Play by Tania Hershman

says the girl in the coat

by the piano, who knows

I only sat down

by accident, haven’t

the skills to do

what she wants

on the black

and the white of it. Put

your hands here,

says the girl with the coat

by the piano, placing hers

over mine on the cool

and the dark of it, whispering

notes in my ear.
