Submission Guidelines

*Submissions are now CLOSED – thank you for such an overwhelming response! It will take a little longer than anticipated to reply to everyone due to the number of submissions – so please be patient. Thanks to each and everyone of you who took the time to get in touch*

We are open for submissions for issue 15! Accepting flash fiction, poetry, short stories, photography and all kinds of visual art. This issue will raise money for RAICES, helping children and families at the US border. Please email all submissions to editor@spontaneity.org and I will reply to everyone by or before the end of the month (31st July).

I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling helpless at how children and families are being treated at the US border – this is a small way we as the creative community in Ireland and across the world can help. Like previous issues, there will be a donate button on the homepage, so that anyone who enjoys reading and absorbing the artwork can donate as much as they want.

The deadline is the end of July – previously published work is fine, as long as you have permission from your publisher. As usual, please include the piece from any previous issue of the magazine you feel your image or words connect or resonate with. If you’re unsure what this means, have a look around the site to see how everything fits together. Please send a bio of up to fifty words, including any links you’d like me to include and I will reply to all submissions before or by the end of the month.

I hope we can make something special – and put a bit of beautiful out there into the world…

Thanks to you all, as ever, for doing what you do,

Ruth McKee
