Submission Guidelines

We are currently open for submissions. Please check our Twitter and Facebook profiles for any updates. A bio is not necessary at the submission stage.

What we’re looking for

The idea is simple: respond to any piece from any issue of the magazine if you’d like to be part of the next issue. You can submit something from scratch in response to a piece in the magazine, or you can send something that you made earlier – as long as there is a strong connection, this is what makes Spontaneity unique!

Send your submissions to editor@spontaneity.org and be part of our creative timeline, a chain reaction between art, poetry, prose and music. Please send us previously unpublished material (on your own blog or website is fine), and let us know if it has been accepted elsewhere.

Content details

We are flexible on word count, but in general we like short stories to be under 2,500 words. Flash fiction can be anything from 100 to 1000 words. Since we’re digital, it doesn’t matter if you’re a few words over or under.

Format

Send us things in the usual way, a Word document or similar. For visual work, the higher resolution, the better please.

Timeframe

We aim to respond quickly and personally to all our contributors. We recognise the time and effort that goes into submitting a piece.

Thanks for looking us up – and we look forward to seeing your work, and to being in touch!
